April 11, 2018 at 7pm inside the Lohan Temple
On behalf of Abbot Dashi Steven Baugh and the Sangha of the Lohan Temple, as well as the Ven. Lama Jigme Rinpoche’s Sangha, Lama Jigme will be giving the empowerment of the profound deity Hayagriva (Tamdring) on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 7 pm inside Lohan Temple for the benefit of all sentient beings! Lama is delighted to give the empowerment and mentions in this modern time the profound practice of Hayagriva is very important and special because in this age the negative emotions of human beings are very strong, as well as the widespread pollution of our environment. Our negative emotions are known to influence the Earth and nature around us. Hayagriva is the horse headed deity who helps one overcome obstacles, sickness, and achieve success in life. Hayagriva’s purpose is to help empower a practitioner to help defeat our negative emotions and disturbed minds.
There are three realms in Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana) where beings can become disturbed by the actions of humans. In the skies there are the worldly gods, in the middle are the nyen (or rakshasa elementals), and in the Earth are the Nagas (or snake spirits). Through the pollution of our environment and human’s negative emotions these beings can become disturbed and create sickness in our foods and spread disease. The reason for many new diseases being found is perpetrated by these beings. Hayagriva is the wrathful deity that helps subdues these powerful spirits in order to bring peace and prosperity.
The one who gives such an empowerment should have a perfect lineage such as that of Lama Jigme. Lama Jigme received the empowerment of Hayagriva from the Dalai Lama in 1996 after being personally invited by him to his residence. This teaching stretches from the Buddha, to the Dalai Lama, to Lama Jigme, and eventually to us, the fortunate Sangha members.
Those who can come at 6 pm to help Lama organize the empowerment (making tormas and building the shrine) will be a great help to the Lama and one’s own merit.
For any questions you can email: Lohanscc@gmail.com
The event and empowerment is open to all who can attend!
Donations are always encouraged for the Lama but no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
From the beginning, pure and unborn nature, spontaneously reflects its ultimate view. Through devotion to Lama Jigme Namgyal Rinpoche, one shall be blessed in attaining this realization.
